Very interesting...took me a day or so to get the full effect/use to it. Powdery Heliotrope, Iris with the uplifting angelica and citrus to lift it up. I always feel the heavier notes then suddenly the fresher ones are arriving in the picture. The notes are almost stand alone it's not a mix where it's hard to distinguish the different elements. My only complaint is the bottle the oil is not coming in a controlled manner, two drops of oil got to my trousers, kind of ruining it:(.

Although I have never smelled Frederic Malle L'eau d'hiver, I really enjoy this fragrance. It is subtle but projects. It does feel like winter water to me. It is soft, cozy, and perfect for my needs as a powdery fragrance.
